PLAYERS OFF COURTS

Last year’s finalist Daniela Hantuchova is looking forward to returning to the Commonwealth Bank Tennis Classic after she finished runner-up to Lindsay Davenport in the 2007 final. Now back in the world’s top ten, Daniela revealed how she bounced back after a recent slump. "I guess maturing a little bit and getting the experiences and knowing what to do in important times," she explained earlier this year. "Also you know, enjoying everything more. Not being so hard on myself, understanding that it's okay not to be perfect all the time."

And what is it she most loves about the game? The glamour? The money? The travel?
"I guess it's the adrenaline," she said. "You know, when you have a tough match like, I don't know, it's 5-4 in the third set and you're serving for it and you know all the attention is on you. I guess that you don't find anywhere else.

“You can ask anybody that's been injured or out of the game. That's what they miss the most. I just love it to have to find answers for all the questions that there are during the match and being able to figure out how to win."

TENNIS IN STYLE...

As part of its commitment to the Bali businesses who support the tennis each year, the Organising Committee welcomes for 2008 to two new associates from the world of fashion.

Italian clothing designer Puravida has confirmed its participation this year in the famous player fashion show during the welcome dinner. Their designs are mainly in a young, colorful, bright, and casual style yet maintaining a feminine touch, suited for every tennis player.

Puravida designs are inspired by the 60's and 70's with a mixture of hippy and retro looks. Most of the clothes are free-flowing and made of high quality cotton or stretch denim.

Sabbatha is a designer label offering an eclectic reflection of the culture and beautiful scenery of Bali. Their unique line of products features bags and purses, alternative fashion wear, and accessories. Every product is a piece of art and their one of a kind designs will be displayed in the VIP tent in the tournament village.
